BSA FOUNDING ASSEMBLY - April 24, 2025

The Balkan Surgical Association was officially established on April 25, 2025, during the First Balkan Surgical Congress, held at Hotel Kraljevi Čardaci, Kopaonik, Serbia, marking a historic milestone in regional surgical cooperation. This landmark event brought together leading surgeons from across the Balkan region with a shared vision of strengthening professional collaboration, advancing surgical science, and creating a unified platform for academic and clinical excellence.


At its founding assembly, Prof. Zoran Milošević, FICS, FASGO, FACS (Serbia), one of the founders of the Association, was elected Founding President of the Balkan Surgical Association, reflecting his leading role in the creation and future vision of the organization.


The Association is guided by a distinguished Executive Board, composed of representatives from across the Balkan region, ensuring broad regional participation, balanced leadership, and a strong collaborative foundation.


In addition, an International Supervisory Board was appointed, consisting of world-renowned surgeons from across the globe, whose role is to support the Association’s mission through strategic guidance, scientific expertise, and the promotion of the highest international standards in surgery. The primary goal of the Association is to foster the exchange of knowledge and experience, while enhancing regional cooperation among surgeons, promoting excellence in surgical practice, education, and research, and ultimately improving patient care and outcomes across the region.
