Balkan Surgical Association

ABOUT US

Since 2025

The Balkan Surgical Association was officially established during the First Balkan Surgical Congress in 2025, held at Kopaonik, Serbia. This milestone event brought together leading surgeons from across the Balkan region with a shared vision of strengthening professional collaboration and advancing surgical practice.

At its founding assembly, Prof. Zoran Milosevic, FICS, FASGO, FACS, from Serbia, was elected as President of the Association. The Governing Board was formed with representatives from all Balkan countries, ensuring inclusive regional participation and balanced leadership.
In addition, an International Supervisory Board was appointed, consisting of world-renowned surgeons from across the globe. Their role is to support the Association’s mission through guidance, expertise, and the promotion of global standards in surgery.
The primary goal of the Association is to foster the exchange of knowledge and experience, while enhancing regional cooperation among surgeons, promoting excellence in surgical practice, education, and research, and ultimately improving patient care and outcomes across the region.
